E' nato e vive a Manchester (Inghilterra). Laureato in Ingegneria, prima del pensionamento è stato Autore Tecnico, scrivendo manuali di Uso e Manutenzione per l'industria, dai trituratori di carta ai treni. Si è sempre interessato ai monumenti antichi, cerchi di pietre, tumuli funerari, fortificazioni collinari e vecchi edifici. Interessato alle antiche chiese, quando è in vacanza nel Regno Unito cerca di scoprire se ci sono vecchie chiese nelle vicinanze. Particolarmente interessato all'archeologia e all'egittologia, si è unito a un gruppo di archeologia locale e alla Manchester Ancient Egypt Society. I cerchi di pietre, le piramidi e altri monumenti antichi hanno un po. di mistero; come sono stati costruiti e in alcuni casi perché sono stati costruiti...Alan è affascinato dai misteri. Ora può aggiungere la "Merels" come un altro mistero perchè pensava fossero "solo giochi", ma ha scoperto che sono più complicate...

Original language: "Born and lives in Manchester (England).  Graduated in Engineering and before retirement was a Technical Author, writing Operating and Maintenance manuals for industry, from paper shredders to trains.  Has always been interested in ancient monuments; stone circles, burial mounds and hill forts and old buildings.  Interested in old churches and when on holidays in the UK tries find out if there are any old churches nearby.  Became more interested in Archaeology and Egyptology and joined a local Archaeology Group and Manchester Ancient Egypt Society. Stone circles, the pyramids and other ancient monuments have a bit of a mystery;  how were they built and in some cases why were they built.  I am fascinated with mysteries. Now I can add merels as another mystery. I thought they were just games, but now have found out they are more complicated".
